Why choose our curriculum?
The Koper International School gives your child a British curriculum inspired education with internationally recognised qualifications of IGCSE and A-Levels .
The British curriculum ensures students receive a well-rounded, high-quality education designed to develop essential critical thinking skills, attitudes, and values for lifelong learning. Our school blends the rigorous British standards with international elements, incorporating Slovene and Italian as compulsory languages, and an additional modern foreign language, we encourage linguistic fluency in four European Languages before a student enters university. Through a cross-curricular education approach, students grow academically and personally, gaining an understanding of British and global perspectives that set a strong foundation for IGCSE and A-Levels success. Our curriculum nurtures learner attributes such as curiosity, open-mindedness, and respect for others, offering opportunities for students to develop not only academically but also as compassionate, tolerant individuals.
In our small, personalised classes with maximum 16 students - but in reality 10-12 is the average - highly experienced teachers from around the world focus on each student’s strengths, adapting teaching methods to inspire independent learning, problem-solving, and critical thinking. These core skills are invaluable as students progress to A-Levels , where they engage deeply with complex ideas and prepare for academic challenges beyond school. We are committed to educating the whole child, emphasising learning that is both flexible and diverse, supporting a wide range of learning styles and encouraging active, meaningful engagement with the world.
At Koper International School, we prioritise a secure, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that values integrity, empathy, and global citizenship which are at the heart of our British education system inspired values. We have a robust safeguarding culture ensures not only academic progress but also the emotional, physical, and mental well-being of every student.
