Welcome to Our School Library

Our school library is a central part of our learning environment, designed to support and inspire students of all ages. We believe reading is essential throughout school life—not only for academic success but also for developing imagination, empathy, and lifelong curiosity. The library helps students grow into confident, capable readers by offering access to a wide variety of books suited to every stage of their learning journey.

The library is free for all students to use, and borrowing books is encouraged across all year groups, with primary classes having designated library time bi-weekly. Whether students are just beginning to read or exploring advanced topics, our carefully organized collection makes it easy for everyone to find something enjoyable and appropriate for their level. Our aim is to create a welcoming space where every student feels excited to read and learn.

To meet the needs of different ages and abilities, our library is divided into sections based on age groups and reading levels. For primary students, we offer leveled readers that support early literacy development. These books are marked clearly by level, helping students, teachers, and parents choose texts that are just right—challenging but accessible. Younger readers can also enjoy beautifully illustrated picture books and beginner chapter books, while older primary students will find more complex stories and topics to explore.

We also have an extensive selection of academic resources to support classroom learning across all subjects. From science and history to geography and language arts, students can find informative texts that deepen their understanding. Alongside these are a wide range of fiction titles, offering rich storytelling and diverse characters that capture the imagination and build empathy, including modern fiction from the last few years.

Reading is a lifelong skill, and our library encourages habits that go beyond the classroom. By helping students discover the joy of reading early on, we equip them with tools for independent learning, critical thinking, and self-expression that will benefit them throughout their lives. We aim to foster a culture of reading where students feel empowered to explore, ask questions, and grow.

Our collection includes over 1,000 books in English, with something for every interest and reading level. In addition, we offer many books in Italian and Slovene, supporting multilingual learners and celebrating our diverse school community.

We warmly invite all students to visit the library, find a book they love, and experience the many rewards that reading has to offer.
