Our New Primary & KS3 English Teacher: Christina Bowers Smith

We are delighted to welcome Christina Bowers Smith to Koper International School as our new Primary and KS3 English Teacher.
 
Originally from Boston, USA, Christina brings with her over 20 years of teaching experience in American schools primarily in Arizona. With a deep passion for inclusive education and language learning, this marks her first international teaching post, and she is thrilled to join our vibrant and diverse school community.
 
Christina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a postgraduate qualification in Primary and Key Stage 3 teaching, and a Master’s in Educating Multilingual Learners. In addition to her original teaching diploma, she also holds an endorsement in English as a Second Language.
 
Her academic background is matched by extensive classroom experience, particularly in working with multilingual students and those with special educational needs, including dyslexic learners. Christina is a strong advocate for inclusive and differentiated teaching methods and is already making a positive impact in our school.
 
She is moving here with her 4 children, and we look forward to welcoming them to our school.
