Celebrating Four Weeks of Gymnastics at Flip

Over the past four weeks, our students have taken part in an exciting and challenging gymnastics programme at Flip. This experience has provided a fantastic opportunity for pupils across both Primary and Secondary school to develop their physical skills, build confidence, and improve their overall fitness.

Primary School Highlights

Our Primary students approached gymnastics with enthusiasm and curiosity. Over the four weeks, they focused on developing fundamental movement skills such as balance, coordination, and agility. Through a range of fun and engaging activities, pupils learned how to safely perform basic rolls, jumps, and balances. A strong emphasis was placed on core strength, helping students to stabilise their bodies and improve posture. By using age-appropriate equipment and structured routines, children gained confidence in their abilities while also learning the importance of perseverance and trying new skills. Most importantly, they had fun while staying active and healthy.

Secondary School Highlights

Secondary students built upon these foundational skills with more advanced techniques and sequences. They worked on strength, flexibility, and control, developing more complex movements such as handstands, cartwheels, and vaulting progressions. Core strength remained a key focus, supporting students in executing skills with precision and stability. Pupils were also encouraged to refine their performance, linking movements together into sequences and demonstrating creativity and discipline. The programme challenged them both physically and mentally, promoting resilience and self-improvement.

Our Sporting Journey

Gymnastics at Flip is just one part of our wider commitment to physical education. Throughout the year, students take part in a variety of sports and activities designed to develop a broad range of skills, from teamwork and communication to strength, endurance, and coordination. We are proud of the effort and progress shown by all students during these four weeks and look forward to continuing to build on these skills across our diverse sports programme. Well done to everyone involved!
